Applications are only available during our application period. We only accept applications filled out and submitted online during the following times:

Orthodontic Assistant Application

As a requirement to access the clinical affiliate sites which are a required part of the curriculum, all students must show proof of completion of an approved Covid-19 Vaccination series.

Although students might be eligible to obtain an exemption to participate in activities on campus, our clinical affiliate sites do not afford trainees this option for the safety and protection of their patients and staff.

Admission Requirements


1. Students must provide verification of enrollment in the dental assisting program or RDA license and/or 6 months' work experience as a Dental Assisting 8-hour Infection Control and 2-hour Dental Practice Act or RDA license prior to enrollment. 

2. Completed Application

3. Current CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) card, which must be maintained while in the program. CPR training can be obtained from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, Health Care Provider course. 

4. After acceptance into the program, submit a completed health data form evidencing good health including required immunization/ches x-ray or Mantoux test. 

5. Recommended Preparation: Dental Assisting students must hav ethe ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate quickly, safely and effectively in a health care setting. Additional languages are beneficial and desired. Elibility for ENGL C1000 (formerly ENGL 001A). 

6. Applications are accepted on a year-round basis. Students interested in the full time or part time Dental Assisting Program or additional program information should consult with the Health Sciences Division office. 

7. Enrollment is determined by the applicant pool and the selection process is by lottery whle adhering to all Federal and State Laws.

Transcript Evaluation


If you are a student with foreign transcripts, you must have your transcripts evaluated by one of the following three companies before applying. A detailed/comprehensive report with the breakdown of upper and lower division courses is required. Credit from foreign schools can only be recognized for math, humanities, and the physical education requirements:
