Information about the ceremony	Additional information regarding commencement in Robinson Stadium at PCC for Graduates Hang gowns to remove wrinkles. If necessary, press carefully with a cool iron so as not to burn the gown. Wear the stole with the ends even on front. Traditional "academic dress" is your cap and gown. Your cap is called a "mortarboard." It should be placed on the head so that the front corner of the mortarboard is at the middle of your forehead and so that when you walk it is flat on top. You will recall that selected adornments to your cap and gown are permissible. Please contact the Office of Student Life, if you have questions. Keep the tassel at the front right of the cap until later in the ceremony; you will be asked to move it to the left at a specific time. When in the processional, maintain a distance of two feet between you and the person ahead of you. Move along smoothly and quietly at the pace set by the leader. There will be two lines moving side-by-side. Dignity during the processional enhances the ceremony for participants and guests. Please be sure to go into your seating row as far as possible, so as to fill every seat. When you reach your seat, remain in place and remain standing for the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. Members of Alpha Gamma Sigma, and those receiving Administrative Honors, rise upon request of the college president for introduction. Following the introduction please be seated. Graduates rise upon request of the college president for introduction of the graduating class. Remain standing through the Recognition of the Class by the President of the Board of Trustees. Following these acknowledgments please be seated. Rise for the distribution of diplomas, one row at a time. Proceed in line and hand your name card to the announcer. Cross the stage near the announcer, stop on the place indicated; face the audience while your name is being read, to receive congratulations, to receive your diploma cover and to permit the professional photographer to take your picture. Use the center ramp to leave the stage and to return to your seat location by way of the center aisle. Formal Recessional: The first row of graduates shall follow the faculty down the Center aisle, out of the stadium, and Galloway Plaza. The next rows of graduates shall follow in order. There will be two lines moving side-by-side. **ATTENTION Due to the artificial football turf, the following items will be prohibited*: GUM SUNFLOWER SEEDS STILETTO HEELS *Ladies this is for your own protection. You could be injured if you wear stiletto heels on artificial turf. Wedge heels are o.k. If you have any questions, please feel free to give Siria LoVett at call at 626-585-7385.

Guest Tickets to Attend

All tickets have been claimed for this event. If you have any questions, please use the Contact Form on the event page.

The ceremony is a ticketed event. Graduates have been allocated four tickets for guests, but students do not need tickets to attend.

Tickets are required for attendance. When guests arrive on campus for the ceremony, they should visit a Ticket Kiosk to scan their ticket and receive their wristband. The wristband will give them access to the stadium.

Entrance and seating for guest will be with a valid ticket only. Guests will be allowed in the stadium at 5:00 p.m.
PARKING IS FREE and available on the 3rd level and above on Lot 5 on Bonnie Ave. and Lot 4 on Del Mar/Hill Ave
The ceremony will be live streamed for those guests who are unable to attend.

Event Updates

Weather
This event is rain or shine. While rain is not in the forecast, please be prepared.

Where do friends/family/guests go?
Guests will access their seats through the West entrance to Robinson Stadium, near Lot 4.
All guests must show a valid ticket or they will not be admitted to the event.

Parking
The most convenient parking for guests is Lot 4, but all lots will be open for free parking.

Bag check
Prior to entering the venue, all bags will be searched by PCC personnel. The following items are prohibited to bring into the stadium venue, so please leave them in your car or at home:

Backpacks, purses or bags with dimensions larger than 16″ x 16″ x 8″
Balloons
Banners or flags
Beach balls or any other inflatables
Cannabis or cannabis products

Hard-sided coolers and thermoses
Illegal drugs of any kind
Knives with blade longer than 3”
Laser pointers
Masks not intended for medical use
Musical instruments
Pets
Poles of any length
Selfie sticks
Stereos, boomboxes, or other producers of amplified sound
Umbrellas
Unmanned aerial vehicles or drones
Weapons of any kind
Whistles
Other items at the discretion of Pasadena City College personnel

Instructions for Returning Your Attire

The Collegiate Cap and Gown Company, from which we rent your academic apparel, has asked that the caps, gowns and hoods be returned immediately after the reception that follows the commencement exercises, Friday evening, June 14, 2024.

You may return your academic attire to the GM Building Lobby.
