This years open enrollment is a passive enrollment. You do not need to do anything if you want to keep your current benefits.  Cash-in-lieu does not automatically renew every year. Cash-in-lieu recipients must submit their insurance card and fill out the Cash-in-lieu form every year.

Under the Prudent Incentive Plan, you may choose your own physician, or a Prudent Buyer Physician each time you receive care. A non-Prudent Buyer Physician will be paid at 80/100% of eligible charges according to customary and reasonable rates. A Prudent Buyer Physician will be paid based on Blue Cross negotiated rate at 90%. Therefore your out-of-pocket cost will be lower when you use a Prudent Buyer Provider.

Anthem Blue Cross is Federally Qualified Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) which provides services through a network of existing medical groups. Members select a (PCP) medical group which becomes the center of all their health care needs.

Kaiser Foundation Plan is Federally Qualified Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) which arranges for medical and hospital care to be provided at their Kaiser Permanente facilities. Members may use any one of their medical offices and hospitals when care is required.

Dental Benefits

Delta pays 70% of the approved fees for covered diagnostic, preventive, basic, cast and crown benefits during the first year you are eligible. This percentage will increase 10% each year (to a maximum of 100%) for each enrollee, provided that person visits the dentist at least once during the year.

Copays vary by service. Orthodontic services are included for both adults and children up to $1,695. This is an DHMO benefit.

Employees with Blue Cross PPO or Cash In Lieu: Comprehensive examination in any 12 consecutive months and one pair of lenses and frames or contact lenses every 12 consecutive months.

STRS (State Teachers’ Retirement System)

Membership in the CalSTRS Defined Benefit Program includes all employees in California public schools from kindergarten through community college, in positions performing creditable service under the Program. 

Employee payroll deduction is 10.25% for those hired before 01/01/2013 and 10.205% for those hired on or after 01/01/2013. Deductions are pre-tax and there is no deduction for Social Security.

CalPERS (California Public Employees’ Retirement System)

This Plan was enacted in response to federal legislation, which requires state and local government agencies to cover employees under a retirement plan or under Social Security.

Printing your temporary ID card is easy and takes only a few minutes. You can print a temporary ID card online through Anthem's website, anthem.com/ca, by following these steps:

  • Log in to anthem.com/ca or register online if you do not have an account (call Member Services and request your health care ID number to register).
  • Click on the Print Temporary ID card link.
  • Select a name from the drop down box of the member you wish to print a temporary ID card for.
  • The system will display the Temp ID card.
  • Click the print icon in the upper left hand corner of the PDF to print.
  • It's important to remember that your temporary ID card expires 30 days after its issue date. The temporary ID card is not meant to replace your permanent ID card, which you will still get, via mail.
