Studying Outside of PCC
PCC international students can study at another SEVP-approved college while also being an active PCC student. This is known as Concurrent Enrollment for International Students. Do not confuse this with Concurrent Enrollment for High School Students.
Student Responsibilities

Must meet F-1 visa in-person/hybrid course requirements
- Students must enroll in a minimum of 12 units to be considered full-time, of which
at least 9 units must be in-person/hybrid.
- For example: If an undergraduate student is enrolled in 9 units at PCC, including a 3-unit fully online class, the 3 units taken at another school must be an in-person or hybrid class.
- Students must maintain a minimum of 6 units at PCC while concurrently enrolled at another college.
- Students must enroll in a minimum of 12 units to be considered full-time, of which
at least 9 units must be in-person/hybrid.

Last Semester Before Graduation
- If students only have one class left for graduation, they must take that class at PCC. Concurrent enrollment is not allowed.

Provide proof of enrollment
- After approval and before PCC's Add/Drop Deadline, student must email proof of enrollment in the course(s) to iso@pasadena.edu.
- Proof of enrollment must include the student’s full name, semester information, course title, course modality (online, in-person, or hybrid), and number of units.
- Acceptable proof includes an unofficial transcript, enrollment verification from the other school, or screenshots of students’ online enrollment portal from the other school.

Provide proof of completion
- Within two (2) weeks of PCC’s last day of the semester, email proof of course(s) completion to iso@pasadena.edu.
- The proof must include the student’s full name, semester information, course title, course modality (online, in-person, or hybrid), and number of units.
- Acceptable proof includes an unofficial transcript or screenshots of students’ online enrollment portal from the other school showing a final letter grade.
- Acceptable grades are A, B, C, D, F, CR/NC, or Pass/Fail.

Dropping classes from another school
- Students must email iso@pasadena.edu if they decide to drop a class at the other school, especially if they are using the units to satisfy full-time requirement for their F-1 visa.

Transfer credits to PCC

- Students must request official transcripts to be sent to PCC. Learn how.
- After your transcripts have been sent, submit your questions to an Academic Counselor to add them to your PCC student record.
F-1 international students should submit a concurrent enrollment request if they plan to:
- Use credits from another institution to fulfill the F-1 full-time requirement
- Pursue concurrent enrollment in both Spring and Fall while taking less than a full-time course load at PCC
- Require permission from International Advisors at PCC for enrollment at another school
- Have special casess
- Students who plan to complete concurrent enrollment in summer or winter semester ONLY if they were also just previously enrolled in a fall or spring semester.
- Students who are already enrolled in a full-time course load (a minimum of 12 units) but intend to take additional course(s) at another institution for academic or personal reasons.
- Submit the Concurrent Enrollment Form for International Students to iso@pasadena.edu.
