Are you curious about plants? Are you looking for a career that doesn’t land you behind a desk? And won’t be replaced by a chatbot? Then PCC’s Plant Science program is for you. In this hands-on program you’re not just reading about stems and roots; you’re out there, hands-on, in the soil and trees.

Plant science is going high-tech, and so is PCC! Our labs feel more like science fiction than high school biology, and we have everything from tissue culture to acorn conservation. We also have an aeroponics system, which represents the future of farming and urban food production. Our program is all about sustainability, so you’ll pick up all the tricks—saving water, using native plants, and not nuking every bug you see with chemicals. You’ll walk out ready to tackle California’s evolving agricultural industry and make a difference in your community.

California’s sustainable agriculture industries offer a wide range of career opportunities for plant science majors. Earning a degree or certificate from PCC’s expanding Agricultural Plant Science programs provides a strong foundation for careers in urban forestry, soil science, urban farming, and the sustainable management of open spaces and landscaped areas.
