General Requirements & Selection Criteria
Requirements for Admission: Entry requirements for the program are aligned with the State of California Pharmacy Professions Code which outlines the scope of practice of pharmacy technicians.
1. 18 years of age or older.
2. Completion of High School Diploma or G.E.D.
3. Proof of valid California Pharmacy Technician License, or transcripts showing successful
completion of any of the following is required for enrollment in the second course
of the program (PHRM 970- Pharamacologic Agents- Specialized Medications:
- Completion of an educational training program and passing the PTCB or possession of an ExCPT Certificate
- Apprenticeship in a Pharmacy and then passing the PTCB or possession of an ExCPT Certificate
- Prior military experience as documented on the DD214 showing evidence of Pharmacy Technician Training.
4. Enrollment is determined by the applicant pool and the selection process is by lottery while adhering to all Federal and State Laws.
An Occupational Skills Certificate is awarded upon completion of all required courses with a grade of C or better.
