Our programs prepare you to become a certified medical assistant and seek employment in medical offices or clinics performing administrative and clinical duties including records management, financial systems, laboratory procedures, and medical transcription.
Many graduates of our program have been able to find employment at the Los Angeles County Hospital, UCLA Medical Centers, HealthCare Partners, Kaiser Permanente, and local private practices. Additionally, a high percentage of students that complete the program as well as the externship required, have had the opportunity to be hired by the practice they were assigned to for their externship. The Medical Assistant Program at Pasadena City College has maintained 100% employer satisfaction over the past five years.
Most medical assistants work full time and can expect to earn anywhere a salary between $21,000-$41,000. Medical assistants can expect their shifts to include evening or weekend shifts in medical facilities that are always open.
