Books & General Collection Items

As a current PCC faculty or staff member, you have the same borrowing privileges as students. However, your loan period is 6 weeks for general collection items, and there are no overdue charges.

You will need your PCC LancerCard with you in order to check out materials. If an item is lost or damaged, you are obligated to pay the replacement cost for the item plus a $10.00 processing fee.

You can renew library items in any of the following ways:

  • Call the Circulation Desk: (626) 585-7174
  • Visit the Circulation Desk in person during open hours
  • Go to your online library account

All library materials must be returned by the last day of each semester.

Borrowing Privileges

PCC faculty can borrow up to 25 items at a time from our diverse and ever-growing collection. The loan period is six weeks, and you won’t be charged overdue fines. You also enjoy borrowing privileges at Cal State LA Library and Glendale Community College Library. If you need something that’s not available in our vicinity, you may request it via interlibrary loan (ILL).

Media Reserves and Equipment

The library has media equipment, including DVD players, monitors, LCD projectors and easels (not including flip charts) available for faculty and staff to reserve.

Media equipment can be delivered or picked up by prior arrangement during library open hours. Please reserve equipment five business days in advance to guarantee availability. Contact or call (626) 585-7057 for information and to reserve equipment.

Reciprocal Borrowing

As a PCC employee, you can check books out from the Cal State LA Library and Glendale Community College Library. All public libraries have universal borrowing policies, which means anyone can obtain a card.

Interlibrary Loan

If an item is not available in our vicinity, you can request it through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Fill out an ILL form at the Reference Desk or submit the online Interlibrary Loan Form. Contact Lauren Bauer at (626) 585-3309 if you have additional questions about ILL.
