Flyer Posting Guidelines
Outside groups and campus organizations can post on campus using any free speech bulletin boards located outdoors around campus.
Only campus organizations, departments and chartered PCC clubs are allowed to post flyers on any surface other than the free speech boards, and approval needs to be given by the Office of Student Life before posting. Proof of approval is shown via a stamp given by the Office of Student Life.
To obtain this stamp, please ensure that your flyer contains the following:
- A 1 x 2 inch light colored box in the lower right hand corner where we will place the stamp.
- The name of the organization(s) sponsoring the event.
- The contact information of your organization(s) (email address, social media handle, etc.)
Flyers without these may be subject to rejection.
Once you have ensured that your flyer meets these requirements, please send a PDF to pccstudentlife@pasadena.edu. We will respond within 48 – 72 hours.
You can also bring a single copy to the Office of Student Life in CC-105 where we can stamp it physically. Please note that our office will NOT stamp multiple printed copies of flyers or posters - you should make copies of the stamped flyer instead.
How to Post
Using blue painter’s tape (or thumbtacks if posting on free-speech boards), publicity materials can be posted on:
- Exterior bulletin boards around campus.
- Interior bulletin boards (only with prior approval from the respective department).
- Concrete ramp walls east of the Campus Center and west of the Sarafian building.
Flyers cannot be posted on:
- Any painted surfaces or glass.
- Campus building interiors (unless approved by the respective department). Material must be posted on bulletin boards and not on walls.
- Interior or exterior doors.
- The R Building, Art Gallery, Sculpture Garden, or bridges.
- Walkways, steps, wood, vehicles, trees, painted surfaces, poles in the Quad, or trash cans.
Additional publicity material requirements:
- No material will be permitted that is obscene, profane, malicious, slanderous, or that incites the disturbance of the educational process of the college.
- Materials larger than 18” x 24” should not be posted on interior or exterior bulletin doors.
- No more than four flyers per organization per bulletin board.
- Materials shall not be posted to cover or obscure other approved publicity.
- Be respectful of our neighbors and do not post on lamp posts, and trees in our local community.
If your material is deemed to violate any of the above guidelines, it may be subject to removal by the facilities department or the Office of Student Life. Writing on or otherwise defacing or removing approved, posted publicity is considered an act of vandalism against Pasadena City College, and violators will be dealt with accordingly.
