Upward Bound is one of the four TRIO programs hosted at Pasadena City College. TRIO is a non-profit organization that strives to give students from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to attend college. As a TRIO program, Upward Bound is a federally funded college prepatory program that motivates an supports high school students from first generation and low income backgrounds complete high school, graduate from college, and obtain a career in their chosen field.

How Can Upward Bound Help You

We want to help you earn a high school diploma and attend college. As an Upward Bound participant you have the opportunity to participate benefit from the following no cost offerings:

  • College visits and cultural field trips
  • College application and financial aid assistance
  • Tutoring and instruction in core subjects
  • Study and life skills
  • SAT and ACT exam preparation
  • Six week Summer instruction which includes a residential componant
  • Opportunity to meet new friends and experience new adventures
