Applying to PCC is simple and the best choice you can make to set your future on fire! And you can get started right now. After you have completed the application packet with the following required documents, please either MAIL it to us or submit IN PERSON at our International Student Center, located in room D-204. 

  1. Completed PCC International Student Application

    The application asks that you indicate the Program of Study ("major") that you wish to pursue. You must choose a major. Please view the Programs of Study  document for majors that are available to international students.
    Note: Certificates are not offered to international students.

  2. One Passport-size Photograph

    Submit one recent passport-sized photograph (size: 2 x 2 inches or 51 x 51 mm).
    Note: Please submit a physical photo.

  3. $40 USD Application Fee

    The non-refundable, application fee can be paid via money order, cashier's check, or personal check. NO CASH, CREDIT CARDS, OR WIRE TRANSFER accepted. Payments should be made out to "Pasadena City College". Please also write the applicant's full legal name on the check.

  4. Sponsor Affidavit Form

    Complete the Sponsor Affidavit Form and obtain all necessary signatures. Without signatures from you and your sponsors, your application cannot be processed.
    Note: If there are multiple account holders on your bank statement, please submit one affidavit form for each of the account holders.

  5. Original Bank Statement/Letter

    Submit an original statement/letter from your bank or other financial institution. The name of the person on the bank statement should match the name of the person identified on the Sponsor Affidavit Form.

    • The bank statement/letter must be in English. If the bank statement/letter is not in English, please provide a certified English translation of the document. 
    •  Your funds must be from a checking, saving, or certificate of deposit account. 
      Note: We do not accept funds such as stocks, investments, retirement, etc.

    • It must be issued by your bank or financial institution. The bank statement/letter must contain the date, name of the account holder(s), and states that there is funding available in the amount of at least $22,000 USD.

    • Bank statement/letter is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

    • If bank statement/letter is not issued by a U.S. bank, currency must be specified in the statement/letter. If you have funding from multiple sources, you will need a bank statement/letter from each source.

    • The statement/letter must also be signed and stamped by a bank official at the financial institution.

  6. English Proficiency Requirement

    You must provide proof of English proficiency. Please see Proof of English Proficiency document for options.

  7. Educational Requirement

    Submit original/official high school transcripts and diplomas. If you have attended college/university in the US or another country, you must also submit an original/official transcript for each of the schools you have attended. You must have a minimum of 2.0 cumulative GPA.
    Note: A certified English translation must accompany all transcripts, certificates, and diplomas if the original language is not English.

  8. Visa Document Requirements

    Copy of your passport identification page and expiration page.

    In addition, if you are a change of status student, please also submit the following documents:

    • Copy of your current visa
    • Copy of I-94 (you can get it here)
    • Copy of Travel History (you can get it here)
    • Copy of I-20 if you are on F-2 Status
    • Copy of DS-2019 if you are on J status


    In addition, if you are a transfer student (currently holding a valid I-20), please also submit the following documents:

    • Copy of your F-1 visa 
    • Copy of I-20 from your current school
    • Copies of all your past I-20s from each of the previous schools you have attended
    • Copy of I-94 (you can get it here)
    • Copy of Travel History (you can get it here)
    • Transfer-in Recommendation Form
  9. Minor Applicant Requirements
    If you will be under 18 years of age at the beginning of the semester you are applying for, you must:
    • Complete Minor Health Consent Form. This form is only valid if signed by your parent or guardian.
    • Submit an Assigned Guardian Statement formThe form is only valid if signed by parent and guardian. Please note U.S. guardian must submit a copy of their drivers license to confirm their address to the proximity of the college.
    • A copy of your guardian's Photo ID (e.g. Driver's License, Passport)

Notes About The Application

All applicants must be at least 16 years old and be a high school graduate.

All forms are fillable PDFs. Please make sure that you TYPE your information, PRINT the forms, and SIGN by hand. Handwritten forms will not be accepted if it's not legible.

If you have scanned documents, please make sure you PROPERLY scan the original documents in color and send as email attachments using PDF format. If your documents are not properly scanned, you may be asked to resubmit them.
