Emergency Communication
Under the direction of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Director, the College Executive Director of Strategic Communications & Marketing shall activate the Joint Information Center (JIC) during emergency situations. The purpose of the JIC is to:
- Provide emergency status updates to the media and community
- Release lifesaving/health preservation instructions
- Provide a spokesperson/unified voice for the college
- Provide a central point for inquiries
- Coordinate communication mediums (web, social media, phone)
- Release clear, concise, and confirmed information
- Coordinate with other on-scene information officers (Fire or Law Enforcement)
- Record and archive emergency response of the college
