Peer Health Educators at PCC
Empowering Lancers. Building a Healthier Campus.
The Peer Health Educators (PHE) are a premier team of student leaders dedicated to the well-being of the Pasadena City College community. We serve as the vital link between the student body and Student Health Services, ensuring every Lancer is educated, supported, and connected to the care they need.
Our mission is simple: to create a thriving campus environment where mental and physical health are prioritized, de-stigmatized, and accessible to all.
Our Core Initiatives
As a PHE, you will become a campus expert and advocate in the areas that impact student success the most:
- Mental Health & Resilience: Breaking the stigma around seeking help and promoting the mental health clinic’s life-saving resources.
- Substance Awareness & Harm Reduction: Leading the charge on education to ensure our peers make safe, informed, and healthy choices.
- Sexual Health & Empowerment: Providing inclusive education on reproductive health and connecting students to clinical testing and support.
- Nutrition & Metabolic Health: Educating the community on fueling the body for academic success and the importance of long-term metabolic wellness.
- Navigating Campus Resources: Acting as a "human map" to the medical and mental health clinics, making healthcare approachable for every student.

Advocacy in Action: Why Join the Team
We don’t just talk about wellness—we build it. Our team is currently spearheading a major initiative to advocate for and fund a Health & Wellness Vending Machine on campus. This project will provide 24/7 access to essential health supplies and over-the-counter resources, ensuring health equity for all students. As a PHE, you will be at the forefront of this legacy project.
Becoming a Peer Health Educator is more than a campus job—it’s a professional launchpad. Through our program, you will:
Ready to Lead?
If you are passionate about wellness, love helping others, and want to leave a lasting mark on Pasadena City College, we want you on our team.

Peer Health EducatorMy current academic goals are to earn my Associate of in Health Science and complete the Pasadena City College Registered Nursing Program. A fun fact about me is that I am a U.S. Army veteran. In my free time, I enjoy photography and collecting watches. I wanted to become a Peer Health Educator because, as a veteran, I understand the importance of mental health, substance abuse prevention, and physical fitness. I am passionate about promoting awareness of these topics and helping students make informed, healthy choices. Through this role, I hope to educate, support, and connect students with valuable health resources while making a positive impact on campus.

Peer Health EducatorHi everyone, I’m Christopher Peng! I’m studying Computer Science. A fun fact about me that most people don’t know is that I really enjoy drinking tea, and in my free time you can usually find me doing arts and crafts, playing Minecraft, or out on the tennis court. One of the reasons I wanted to become a Peer Health Educator is because I wanted to share health knowledge with my peers. Especially as our world becomes increasingly unhealthy, with more screen time and processed food, I wanted to be a bridge that helps people take steps toward improving themselves.
