Chancellor's Office Information
The California Community Colleges is the largest postsecondary education system in the nation. Established by legislation in 1967, the Chancellor's office is the administrative branch charged with providing leadership, advocacy, and support for the system. The Chancellor's office operates under the direction of the state chancellor who is guided by the Board of Governors. The state chancellor is appointed by the board and board members are appointed by the Governor.
The Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative (IEPI) is a statewide collaborative effort to help advance the effective practices of the California Community Colleges and, in the process, significantly reduce the number of accreditation sanctions and state and federal audit issues.
Student Success Scorecard
In its commitment to increase transfer and degree and certificate attainment, the California Community Colleges Board of Governors has established a performance measurement system that tracks student success at all 113 community colleges. The Scorecard metrics are designed to measure both intermediate progress and completion for students with the ability for the college to analyze data by student demographics (age, gender and ethnicity).
