The Flexible Calendar Program is facilitated through the Chancellor’s Office. Participating colleges, of which PCC is one, select the number of Professional Development Days per academic year (PCC has opted for two Professional Development Days). Faculty at participating colleges are obligated to either attend their designated Professional Development Days or complete other professional learning activities in lieu of attending. The types of activities that qualify must be related to faculty, student, and instructional improvement. More specific details about the types of activities that quality can be found in PCC’s Flexible Calendar Program Guidelines.
Important to note, activities external to PCC can also count towards one’s flex obligation. If you complete an activity outside of PCC that you want to count towards your flex obligation, you will need to complete the external training form that is available on the Vision Resource Center Welcome Page.
In summary, the Flexible Calendar Program is... flexible!
