Shared governance ensures that the College’s professional and organizational development programs are informed by an array of perspectives and experiences.  This broad engagement and oversight occur through the following committees/groups.

Professional Development Standing Committee

The Professional Development Standing Committee advises College Council on issues and matters related to professional development.  The committee helps guide the College’s comprehensive professional development program, ensuring that it serves the Educational Master Plan and reflects accreditation standards.  The Professional Development Standing Committee is co-chaired by a member of the Faculty (appointed by the Academic Senate), a member of the Classified Staff (appointed by the Classified Senate), and the Director of Professional and Organizational Development.

Academic Senate Faculty Development Committee

The Academic Senate Faculty Development Committee is committed to providing meaningful and engaging professional learning opportunities that will support the professional and personal growth of full time and adjunct faculty members. The committee reports to the Academic Senate and works in partnership with the Professional Development Standing Committee and the Office of Professional and Organizational Development to ensure coherence with college-wide goals and initiatives.

The Classified Professional Development Committee is committed to providing meaningful and engaging professional learning opportunities that will support the professional and personal growth of classified staff. The committee reports to the Classified Senate and works in partnership with the Professional Development Standing Committee and the Office of Professional and Organizational Development to ensure coherence with college-wide goals and initiatives.

Management Association Professional Development Committee

The Management Association Professional Development Committee is committed to providing meaningful and engaging professional learning opportunities that will support the professional and personal growth of deans, directors, managers, and supervisors. The committee reports to the Management Association and works in partnership with the Professional Development Standing Committee and the Office of Professional and Organizational Development to ensure coherence with college-wide goals and initiatives.
