Important Facts
  • Test strips may produce false negatives or positives.
  • They can detect fentanyl and some analogs but not all.
  • A positive result does not indicate the amount of fentanyl present.
  • Testing only a portion of a dose gives NO information about the rest of the dose; crush, dissolve and test the entire dose you plan to take.
  • Be aware: 2 mg of fentanyl can be lethal; 70% of seized pills in 2023 contained a potentially lethal dose.
Harm Reduction Tips
  • Never use drugs alone (have a designated reviver in case of an emergency or call Never Use Alone at 1-877-696-1996 or 1-800-484-3731)
  • If you use drugs, go slow and avoid mixing substances.
  • Keep naloxone visible and know how to use it.
  • Call 911 if someone is unresponsive and not breathing well.
