Develop the English skills you need for college and career success!
The credit English as a Second Language (ESL) program is for students whose first language is not English. We offer 5 levels of ESL, each with reading, writing, listening and speaking classes. All classes earn college credit and the courses you take in Level 4 and 5 can be transferred to a four-year university.
The program in English as a Second Language builds the communicative foundation for all students who need to master the language in order to successfully perform at PCC. It encompasses both a transfer curriculum and learning activities designed to improve the economic condition and quality of life of the diverse communities within the Pasadena Area Community College District.
Is Credit ESL For You?
PCC offers two ESL programs - Credit and Noncredit. Not sure if you need ESL classes? Not sure which program is best for you?
Each year we award the Yves Magloe Memorial Scholarship and Renee Copeland Scholarship to deserving ESL students.
