At the Pride Center, we're dedicated to creating an environment that's safe, welcoming, and comfortable for all students.

We warmly invite you to explore our center and make use of the space. However, to ensure that everyone enjoys their time here, we kindly ask all students to familiarize themselves with our community guidelines before their first visit.

Together, we can make the Pride Center a place where everyone feels valued, respected, and celebrated.

Community Guidelines:

  1. Be Respectful of Others.

    We are fortunate to share space with individuals from many different backgrounds and experiences. We honor pronouns. We encourage sharing with and requesting of pronouns from others. This space accepts all as they are today and for who they strive to be tomorrow. We will approach all with respect and support the journeys of those around us.

  2. Maintain Confidentiality.

    Stories shared in this room may not have made their way beyond our doors. Honor the voice sharing their story by ensuring they feel secure in this space. We will commit to not requesting that a student disclose nor shall we out any individual or an individual’s status even if you believe they may have shared this information with others.

  3. Keep the Space Comfortable for All.

    This center is for students to come, hang out, have a snack, study, get connected with resources, and everything in between. Any form of disruption within the space will not be tolerated. Refrain from using vulgar, graphic, or sexually explicit language. Consent culture is created when we prioritize and value respect for the feelings of those around us. Follow our one snack and one drink per day policy to help stretch our resources. Keep conversations at a reasonable volume ensuring that students who want to study or relax are given the opportunity to do so. Please take personal phone calls outside of the center.

  4. Leave the center in the same condition as you found it.

    This space is shared by many. To maintain order throughout the day, please assist us in taking care of the center. Throw away your trash, Clean the microwave after use, Remove items from the refrigerator, and wipe down surfaces. Most importantly, take all of your belongings with you when you leave the center. We will close promptly at the listed times. Gather all belongings, and complete any cleanup prior to closing.

  5. Hold Each Other Accountable.

    Help uphold the values of our center by ensuring these community guidelines are followed by all. Please notify staff of any concerns. Take care of each other.

The Pride Center staff is here and happy to help meet the needs of the communities that we represent. Please reach out with any concerns, questions, or assistance required, and we will do our best to accommodate. This document will change, grow, and adapt to the needs of the Pride Center. Failure to uphold the Community Guidelines will result in removal from the center. Thank you for your cooperation and the value that your presence adds to our center here at Pasadena City College.
