Collaboration with Community Partners
AYA provides academic, professional and leadership development- preparing and supporting youth to be academic successful and graduate from high school. Encourages pursuit of higher education by becoming career and job aware but ultimately, developing leaders and role models in their local families, schools, and communities. STEM @ PCC supports AYA biggest and most impactful conferences, Adelante Young Men and Adelante Mujer Latina.
Upward Bound Math Science services high school students from the cities of Pasadena and El Monte who come from low-income and first generation backgrounds in order to assist them with strengthening their math and science skills. They help students recognize and develop their potential to excel in math and science and help encourage them to pursue post-secondary degrees in math and science, and ultimately, pursue careers in the math and science professions.
STEAM:CODERS, a Project of Community Partners, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization teaches underrepresented and underserved students and their families the fundamentals of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), in preparation for academic and career opportunities. By teaching logic, critical thinking and problem solving, we provide students with attainable pathways to future success.
MESA at PCC serves over 300 students pursuing a major in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. MESA provides educationally and economically disadvantaged students with the skills and resources to be successful in school and career in science, technology, engineering and math.
AAUW has a long history of taking action to increase women’s and girls’ opportunities and interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). AAUW Tech Savvy has partnered with PCC to present a daylong science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) career conference designed to attract girls in sixth through ninth grades to these fields. AAUW Tech Savvy also includes an important parent program that encourages families to reinforce girls’ interest in future education and careers in STEM.
The League of STEM is a collective of STEM related clubs at Pasadena City College. All clubs are ran by students, for students to provide opportunities to get involved and meet other students while pursuing a common interest. The League works together on various volunteering and event opportunities for PCC students and for the greater community.
Supplyframe is the Industry Network for electronics design and manufacturing. They provide open and connected access to the world’s largest collection of vertical search engines, supply chain tools, and online communities.
The MaS2 program is open to any PCC student who is majoring or may be interested in majoring in an area of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and has accumulated less than 54 units
