Meet Scholarship Winner, Madeline Estela Roe!
Madeline is a PCC student majoring in Engineering and Technology. She graduated from La Canada High School and her career plans include becoming an animator for Pixar.
Madeline's Story
Art has always been my main vessel of communication to the world, and with art I feel that I can express myself without fear of judgement or failure. As an artist, I am constantly faced with failureー messing up a drawing and having to start over again, not quite having perfected a certain technique, mixing colors and everything ends up slightly off hueー but my drive and ambition are what keep me pushing forward. In my experience, I am repeatedly reminded that artists rarely make it in the professional world. I believe that if I go finish college, pursuing a degree in the arts, I will reach my goal of working at Pixar. I have recently considered studying business alongside art as well to make me a better candidate when applying to work at animation studios.
Meet Scholarship Winner, Alexander Reese!
Alexander Reese is a recipient of the Dorvis and Betty Leis Scholarship for Student Athletes and is part of the PCC Lancer Track and Field Team.
Alexander's Story
During my senior year in high school one thing that caught my attention was the study
of Fire Sciences. In achieving knowledge of this study it will lead down a fulfilling
career as a fire fighter. I would always ask myself, “what is one thing you enjoy
doing”, and my answer was always, "helping those in need." With this career I can
do that. I believe that throughout my time in PCC I will be able to achieve my goal
of becoming knowledgeable in the field of fire science and I will be able to pursue
my career as a firefighter.
