Asian Pacific Islander Desi American APIDA Initiatives

Linda Lam (she/her) started in July 2024 as the inaugural Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Student Success Specialist. She has extensive experience working with AANHPI students and communities in higher education and nonprofit organizations. Before joining PCC, she was the director for the Center for Asian Pacific American Students at Pitzer College for 11 years. Her passion for working with AANHPI and marginalized communities was shaped by her ethnic Chinese parents, whose middle school education was cut short by the war in Vietnam. Her experiences as a low-income, first-generation college student growing up in Cypress Park/Highland Park influenced her academic and career path. She has volunteered with educational justice, immigrant rights organizations and worker centers in the Los Angeles area. Linda earned her Bachelor of Arts in Asian American Studies and Psychology from University of California, Los Angeles and a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Student Affairs & Educational Justice from Claremont Graduate University. She enjoys crafting, camping and cheering for the Dodgers.
