Students, faculty, and staff are celebrating today at Pasadena City College, as the college revels in earning the coveted John W. Rice Student Success Award.
The National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program has named Pasadena City College the lead agency on a $7 million grant that will develop new approaches to educating students in micro nano technology.
Superintendent/President Erika Endrijonas signed an executive order on Monday that immediately prohibits the use of carotid restraints, or chokeholds, by PCC Campus Police. The order also creates a 13-member Campus Police Policy Task Force with the charge of completing a top-to-bottom review of the police force’s policy manual and training handbook. PCC Police Chief Stephen Matchan will report on the progress of the review by September, according to the order.
The Pasadena City College Foundation and the Posey Family Foundation announced last week the Posey Institutional Loan Program for nursing students, which will provide low-interest rate loans to eligible PCC students enrolled in the registered nursing (RN) or licensed vocational nursing (LVN) programs beginning in Fall 2020.
