It's time for the Classified Senate elections to be held! Positions for representatives in your area need to be filled for the term commencing July 1, 2018 and ending on June 30, 2020. This self-nomination form must be submitted not later than 4:00 p.m. on 4/11/18.

The Senate uses a self-nomination process per Article V, Section 2 of the Classified Senate Bylaws:

"Members of the Senate shall serve terms of two years. Members of the Senate shall be eligible for re-election. However, no member shall serve more than two consecutive two-year terms without spending at least two years out of the Senate."

It is mandatory that Senators attend Senate meetings on the 1^st and 3^rd Wednesday of the month.

The following is the method that will be observed to fill the positions: 

1. Employees in your area desiring to serve as Senator will fill in the form above not later than 4:00 p.m. on 4/11/18. You must be a permanent classified employee to serve as a Senator.

2. On or about 4/23/18 a ballot listing the nominees from your area will be compiled from the self-nomination forms and mailed to the classified employees.

3. The marked ballots must be returned to Classified Senate Mailbox, C129, not later than 4:00 p.m., 5/07/18. The ballots will be counted the week of 5/14/18.  The newly elected Senators will assume their position July 2018, at the first scheduled meeting of the fiscal year.
