Brief individual therapy is a type of psychotherapy that is conducted with one person and a qualified mental health professional. The length of treatment is short-term and best suited for students that have a specific goal that may be addressed in a shorter period of time. For example, each student’s experience is unique and brief individual therapy may provide support to improve daily functioning by addressing specific concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and academic stress. This personalized approach allows students to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a safe and confidential environment.
Our clinicians utilize a range of therapeutic techniques and approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
During the intake, the clinician works with the student to make recommendations on their care. Depending on the recommendations of the clinical team, a student may be offered brief therapy or case management services.
