Brief individual therapy is a type of psychotherapy that is conducted with one person and a qualified mental health professional. The length of treatment is short-term and best suited for students that have a specific goal that may be addressed in a shorter period of time. For example, each student’s experience is unique and brief individual therapy may provide support to improve daily functioning by addressing specific concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and academic stress. This personalized approach allows students to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a safe and confidential environment.
Our clinicians utilize a range of therapeutic techniques and approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
Based on the discretion of the clinician, a client may be offered 6-8 individual therapy sessions. Individual therapy sessions are typically 45 minutes long and scheduled on a weekly or bi-monthly basis.
