Eligibility

Students are eligible for PCC’s Mental Health & Wellness Services if they are currently enrolled in at least one unit of a credit class.

To schedule an appointment, you can reach out to our services by phone, or walk in to schedule an appointment.

Our staff can provide information about our services, answer questions, and help determine the best options for each student’s needs. The first step typically involves scheduling an intake appointment.

Getting Started: The Intake Appointment

Typically, when a student would like to engage with our services, we provide an intake appointment. An intake appointment is an overall assessment of a student's needs and mental health. In preparation for that appointment, students are asked to arrive for the appointment 30 minutes early, to complete the paperwork.

At the intake appointment, the clinician gathers information on the student’s background, goals, and presenting concerns in order to aid in making a treatment recommendation. Appointments are typically 45-50 minutes long.

The next steps after an intake may include engaging in brief individual therapy, case management, or referrals to other resources, based on the needs expressed by the student, and the recommendation of the clinican. We provide referrals and case management services, if at any point, it is determined with careful clinical assessment that other services from off-campus providers are more appropriate for a student’s needs.
