Celebrating the lives of two Foundation Board Members

The Foundation remembers the outstanding service of two board members who passed away in the fall of 2018

John Gregory

Foundation Past President, John Gregory, passed away on November 13, 2018. John was a career journalist and one of his career highlights was the opportunity to interview Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

John joined the Foundation Board in September of 2004 and is remembered most for his leadership and effort to plan and celebrate PCC’s 90th anniversary in 2015. The student success gala raised more than $1.1 million for student scholarships. John served as PCC Foundation President from 2014-2016.

The PCC Foundation awarded a memorial scholarship as a tribute to John at the December, 2018 Scholarship Ceremony. After which, John’s family endowed the John Gregory memorial scholarship in his honor.

Stephen Kanter, M.D.

PCC Foundation Board member, Dr. Stephen A. Kanter, passed away on September 5, 2018.

Dr. Kanter, practiced medicine, specializing in diagnostic radiology. He was elected to the Foundation Board of Directors in June, 2016 where he passionately served as a member of the Finance and Investment Committee.

The Foundation Board held a special moment of silence in honor of Mr. Gregory and Dr. Kanter at their December meeting.
