BlackSTEM PCC is a network that supports Black students through their STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) academic and career trajectory.

How We Help

We are here to support your learning and ensure your success in STEM. Being part of the BlackSTEM network gives you:

  • Education Plan support to ensure your course selection and sequencing is optimized for on-track completion 
  • Financial aid support
  • Tutoring and supplemental instructional support for classes
  • Enrichment opportunities to augment your STEM knowledge, including workshops and lectures from Black scholars and industry leaders in STEM exclusively for your BlackSTEM cohort.
  • Exclusive membership in NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers) and a fully paid trip to the annual NSBE conference
  • Paid internship placement through a collaboration with BlackSTEM and the Freeman Career Center 
  • Career counseling with counselors specializing in STEM industry
  • Curated mentorship from Black faculty, staff, and community leaders in STEM
  • Cohort support and camaraderie; networking opportunities with peers, faculty, and staff

To qualify as a BlackSTEM student, you must:

  • Be enrolled in at least 1 STEM class in the current semester with the intention of a focus in a STEM degree or career path
  • Commit to attending a minimum number of BlackSTEM engagement events as determined by the cohort year calendar (subject to change).

There are no GPA requirements. We encourage you to sign up so you can get the support you need and deserve.
