- Approved Apprenticeship Standards: Written standards approved by the US Department of Labor (DOL) and California Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS).
- Competency Lists: A detailed list of competencies apprentices need to achieve.
- Classroom Instruction: PCC classes directly related to the job, ensuring apprentices gain essential theoretical knowledge.
- Soft Skills Training: Additional training to develop well-rounded professionals.
- Continuous Support for Apprentices: Apprentices get support from Apprentice Advisors, Career Counselors, and program faculty throughout the apprenticeship.
- Recruitment and Intake: PCC receives inquiries from the public and helps future apprentices select and succeed in the right program for them.
- Administrative Support and Coordination: PCC manages the logistics and requirements of the apprenticeship program.
As an Industry Partner, you will be responsible for the following:
- On-the-Job Training and Mentorship: Teach apprentices how to do the job at your worksite.
- Paid Training: Provide apprentices with paid on-the-job training.
- Wage Progression at Designated Milestones: Provide agreed-upon wage increases as apprentices achieve defined competencies. You’ll have the opportunity to work out the details as we build the partnership between your organization and PCC.
