PCC's "Boots to Books" Program Helps Student Veterans Transition to Civilian Life

Nathan Kemnitz, Marine veteran and PCC Alumni, is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Southern California.  In a story by the Military Times, Kemnitz shares the struggles he faced when first enrolling at PCC and how PCC's Veterans programming helped him transition to civilian life and succeed academically. 

Kemnitz participated in PCC's "Boots to Books" program, a course designed to assist veterans transition from military to civilian life. The course focuses on building skills needed for college success as well as helps student veterans transfer their combat skills to career building. Boots to Books was founded in 2007 and is now offered by 20 community colleges.
