The Meaning of a First Generation Student (First Gen)

Being a First-Generation college student means that your parent(s)/guardians did not attend college or complete their college degree. Often, first-generation college students navigate higher education without the guidance of others. 

However, our identity is more than academics, it is about your personal, leadership, and professional growth in our community. As a first-generation college student, you are resilient as you walk through the halls of Pasadena City College and achieve your dreams.
