Are you interested in transferring to a university?

Attend our 4th Annual Transfer Bootcamp! This three-day comprehensive transfer experience will provide you with all the information you need about the transfer process! You’ll also receive insight on how to position yourself as a strong applicant for admission. Students who successfully complete the bootcamp will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement which can be highlighted on your transfer applications!

Wednesday, August 13 - 8:30 am - 1:00 pm, Westerbeck Recital Hall 
Thursday, August 14 - 7 am - 4 pm, field trip to UCLA

UCLA Field Trip 

Lunch and round trip transportation will be provided to UCLA from PCC. Please check-in at 7 AM, submit permission slip and follow instructions given by Transfer Bootcamp leads. Bring comfortable shoes, water and your Transfer Bootcamp shirt.

Student Learning Outcomes

By the end of the Transfer Bootcamp, students will be able to:
  • Describe the key components of the transfer process, including major requirements, application timelines, and deadlines.
  • Differentiate between transfer pathways such as CSU, UC, private, and out-of-state universities.
  • Identify eligibility criteria and benefits for guaranteed admission programs (e.g., UC TAG, ADT).
  • Navigate essential online tools such as Assist.org, UC TAP, CSU Apply, and Common App.
  • Develop a personalized transfer plan that reflects their academic goals, lived experiences, and support systems.
  • Explain what makes a competitive applicant, including academic performance, leadership, community engagement, and strong personal insight responses.
  • Reflect on real student journeys through a PCC alumni panel and an immersive university field trip to experience a four-year campus environment.

Students who participate in the Transfer Bootcamp will receive:

  • A campus visit to a local university, including a guided tour, workshops, and a chance to visualize yourself at a four-year school (location varies each year).
  • Daily snacks and lunch provided for all participants.
  • A limited-edition Transfer Bootcamp T-shirt and opportunities to win prizes and swag throughout the program.

FAQs

There is no fee, all PCC students are welcome to register for this transfer experience.

Anyone active PCC student with a PCC Lancer ID number can register to participate.

Although it isn’t required to attend all three days, students who want to include the Transfer Bootcamp as an extracurricular activity on their transfer applications must attend all three days of the bootcamp. 

Students who attend the first two days of the bootcamp will be invited to participate in the culminating award ceremony at UCLA on the final day. During the ceremony is where students will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

Although students are welcome to participate more than once, the information covered may be similar to the previous years.

YES! All students are welcome to join us at UCLA (transportation will be provided).
