The California Chemistry Diagnostic Test (CCDT) is designed for student
placement into Chemistry 1A. The CCDT is a paper and pencil, multiple-choice
exam. Students will have 45 minutes to complete 44 questions. Most types
of calculators are permitted on this test. Please contact Assessment Services
for an approved list of calculators. Scratch paper and a periodic table
are provided.
The CCDT consists of questions relating to compounds/elements, states
of matter, reactions of matter, structure of matter, periodic properties,
solutions, chemical dynamics, laboratory skills, and mathematics.
