Graduating students from Pasadena City College will hear remarks from Simón Silva, an artist whose vibrant works illustrate his Mexican-American upbringing, at the college’s 94th Commencement Ceremony June 14.

Twelve students from Pasadena City College competed in the 2019 National Collegiate Speech and Debate. The team not only took home the national title they were looking for – a feat that hasn’t been accomplished by any previous PCC team in at least the past three decades – but as a byproduct of their historic results, they also took home an award that PCC has never won. It’s called the Perpetual Sweepstakes Award.

Under an agreement approved this week between Pasadena City College and the La Cañada Unified School District, students attending a LCUSD school will be able to earn college credit while still in high school. The dual enrollment agreement mirrors similar arrangements PCC has established with the school districts in Pasadena and Temple City.
