Continued discussion of need permanent funding and better communication with administration; if Safe Zones Center is scheduled to open December 15, 2017, who is coordinating the opening?
Discussion of two agenda items: (1) Schedule more workshops; assess needs and requests; discuss teach-in model (2) Schedule video taping with David Steiman
Resources like the additional workshop and the video require labor hours beyond the scope of contractual obligation; for example, the video alone costs $250/hour not including at least five hours of preparation and work; each workshop requires preparation, organization, marketing, etc. Currently, the work is being done on a voluntary basis, and yet the administration is relying on and pointing all on campus to this work to support students. Need for economic equity for staff, too.
New business: At Academic Senate meeting on Monday, many senators wanted to know when the Board of Trustees would be making the protocol PCC policy. The committee agrees and will reach out to the F.A. to bring this to the board, since it is a contractual issue.
