Four
Initiatives

A message from PCC President,
Dr. Rajen Vurdien

There are still many challenges facing students which is why we have proposed four initiatives to address their needs:

Dr. Rajen Vurdien
1

Scholarships, including the The PCC Promise Program offers free tuition for entering freshmen who have graduated from a high school within the Pasadena area community college district. The Promise Program provides the financial freedom to attend community college.

The second initiative is Career Technical Education which offers the opportunity for new and returning students to learn skills for the high demand employment.

Athletics is the third initiative and PCC has an incredible past with former superstars like Jackie and Mack Robinson, and Michael Cooper. We must remain competitive with other community colleges in providing safe and state-of-the-art facilities.

The Arts is the fourth initiative and, if PCC wants to remain a comprehensive institution, we need to continue to provide educational opportunities in communications and the visual and performing arts.

We must support these initiatives, to sustain the necessary tools for a well-trained, well-educated workforce, so we can maintain our leading edge.
