Sign Up for a Renewal Workshop
Workshops are held at Pasadena City College's Community Education Center (3035 E. Foothill Blvd, Pasadena 91107). The new semester has begun. Please sign up for your FKCE renewal classes here.
Yes, if you are a kinship provider caring for D and/or F children, or a licensed foster parent, you must attend these classes to renew your license and keep your specialized care rate.
- Basic = 12 hours
- D-rate = 18 hours
- F-rate = 12 hours
- W-rate = 5 hours
If you are D or F rate certified, you do not have to complete the 12 hours for Basic rate.
You will receive a certificate at the end of class.
You may only receive training hours from the community colleges’ Foster/Kinship Care Education (FKCE) departments and directly from the training division of the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS). A limited number of hours are accepted for online trainings.
No, you may not bring children to class. Only children ages 14 and up may attend workshops that are listed as combined for teens and parents. WE DO NOT PROVIDE CHILDCARE.
