The program focuses on delivering engaging workshops in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) all within an empowering, supportive, and fun learning environment. The curriculum for the program is developed by PCC faculty with the assistance of college student mentors to support increased participation and access to women in STEAM related careers. Winter Tech Academy
Our Winter Tech Academy, held January 2018, was a week long academy for middle school students (6th to 8th grade). This program is the counterpart to our 5 DAYS of STEAM for GIRLS! academy that happens in the summer. The intensive and interactive academy focuses on applied project based curriculum intended to spark student’s interest in STEM. This year’s Winter Tech Academy is in collaboration with STEAM: CODERS, a nonprofit organization based in Pasadena that provides access to undeserved students and their families to STEAM fundamentals.
