STEM SATS, short for STEM Saturdays, are Saturday workshops for students grades 11th and 12th. Our STEM SATS are hands-on workshops highlighting various STEM disciplines and applied concepts. These workshops will take place once a month in the spring semester on the campus of Pasadena City College. Students who participate are also provided access to PCC's MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) center with available STEM tutoring by our PCC students

TECH Savvy

Tech Savvy is a daylong conference sponsored by National AAUW and designed to develop girls’ interest and self-confidence in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) disciplines. It is very similar to our long-running Science Day for Middle School Girls, with hands-on workshops covering a wide range of STEM topics, and we will now be including College Savvy sessions on the experience of applying for and attending college, Savvy Skills sessions on the “soft” skills needed to be a successful professional in the 21st century, and adult workshops for parents to learn about how to support their daughters’ interests in STEM careers and college.

5 Days of STEAM for GIRLS

  • Open to Grades 6 - 8
  • August 6th - 10th

Join our 2nd annual 5 Days of STEAM for GIRLS!

It’s a week long summer academy that focuses on empowering girls through engaging workshops in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).

The curriculum for the program is developed by PCC faculty with the assistance of college student mentors to ensure a fun and supportive support learning environment.

This year, in addition to our activities, we will have a speaker series concentrating around women in STEAM related careers, as well as a field trip!
