This summer STEM at PCC will be sponsoring 6 students to take part in the SCEC's internship program. SCEC's Experiential Learning and Career Advancement (ELCA) program seeks to enhance the competency and diversity of the STEM workforce.
On Dec. 9, attend our workshop to learn how to create a competitive application to the program and the expectations of the students who are granted internships. For more information and/or to sign up, visit LancerLife.
Spend your summer doing exciting, cutting-edge research—no experience needed! Be part of a research center that studies life below the oceans, in the sediments and rocks of the subseafloor. This ecosystem is largely unexplored, and we need students to help grow, isolate, describe, and ultimately name the microorganisms referred to as ‘intraterrestrials’. C4 students will work in teams to characterize a novel microbe in laboratories at USC, learning state-of-the-art techniques ranging from DNA sequencing to microscopy and sterile techniques to analytical chemistry.
Now Accepting Applications! This 6-month internship program provides community college students with the unique and valuable opportunity to perform high-impact, independent research in environmental science. Learn More
