Privacy Policy

Pasadena City College’s Career Center provides access to the NACElink Network website, which is owned and operated by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). Job listings, resume services and campus interviewing are provided through the NACElink system. Pasadena City College’s Career Center and NACE are committed to providing and protecting its users with good privacy practices regarding personal data. For details on NACE privacy practices, please review the NACElink Privacy Policy and the Direct Employers Privacy Policy. Collection and access to student information is governed by the following campus and federal policies:

SECURITY

NACE takes precautions to protect the participant's data. When participants submit sensitive data via the Web Site, the data is protected both online and off-line. In addition, the job seeker and employer data is password protected, so only the participant can access this data. All personally identifiable data collected by NACE is stored in limited-access servers. NACElink Network uses firewalls and has technical, administrative, and physical security measures and safeguards in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the data under NACE's control.

EMPLOYERS

Employers use NACElink to post employment opportunities directly on NACElink.com, through Pasadena City College Career Center ’s web site, where there is a direct link to NACElink. Pasadena City College is a NACElink Custom School and uses NACElink to provide a web-based system for job posting, resume data base, registration, and interview scheduling for its job seekers and for the employers who recruit on campus.

STUDENTS/ALUMNI

By uploading your resume to Pasadena City College NACElink, and granting permission for prospective employers to view it (within your privacy settings), you consent to the release of your resume and certain employment-related data of a personal and professional nature.
If you elect to make your resume viewable by employers (option 2), all information (including personally identifiable information) that you include in your resume may be viewed by recruiters and employers. You should not enter any information in the body of your resume that you wish to remain confidential.
With regard to the use of NACElink, students' profile data and resumes will reside on NACElink Network servers, and policies governing this data are covered in the NACElink Privacy Policy.
Jobs posted on the NACElink system may or may not be reviewed before posting. Site users are urged to validate job postings and use caution and common sense when applying. Do not disclose social security numbers, credit card information or bank account numbers to unknown employers.
As a user of Pasadena City College NACElink, you agree to:

Maintain current, accurate, and truthful data with regard to your user profile, professional qualifications, educational background, and job related documents stored within Pasadena City College NACElink
Protect and maintain your username and password
Use Pasadena City College NACElink within the standards of the policies regarding computer use at Pasadena City College

COOKIES

Cookies, which are small text files recorded in a user's hard drive, are employed by thousands of sites to enhance users' web viewing experience. Cookies cannot damage user files, nor can they read data from a user's hard drive. Cookies in and of themselves do not personally identify users, although they do identify a user's computer. Cookies allow sites to "remember" users across pages of a site and across multiple visits to a site. However, when users access NACElink, it will set a cookie while they are on the site. Once users log out of the site or close their browser window the cookies are deleted. Thus, NACElink will not be storing data as to the number of times that a user visited the site. It will be necessary for users to log in each time that they wish to access NACElink.
