Four PCC Defensive Players Make All-NNC Football First Team

While the team's 5-5 finish didn't make much of an impact, the National Northern Conference coaches recognized the strength of the Pasadena City College football defense in 2009 by naming four Lancers to the All-NNC First Team Defense.

Mission Accomplished: 1st Conference Title Secured By Women's Volleyball

It was the spoken goal of Tammy Silva when she was named head coach of the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team in 2007. In just her third season in charge of the Lancers, Silva's goal was reached as the team captured at least a tie for its first-ever South Coast Conference championship Friday with a 3-game sweep over host Long Beach City College.

Putting the ball in the net has been a chronic problem for the Pasadena City College women's soccer team this season. That is except when the Lancers face South Coast Conference newcomer El Camino College Compton Center. Hilton Garden Inn Classic Trophy Finally PCC's

When Hilton Garden Inn began sponsoring the season-opening tournament for the Pasadena City College women's basketball team in 2007, the Lancers figured it would quickly capture the championship title. It just took a longer than they expected as PCC finally won its tip-off tournament for the first time since 2006 behind a dominating 64-47 victory over Chaffey College Sunday afternoon.

Sellers Hits Jumper To Send Women's Cagers Over Cypress, 65-62

Sophomore center Cherisa Sellers drilled a turnaround jumper with 21 seconds left to break a 62-62 tie and send the Pasadena City College women's basketball team to a 65-62 semifinals win over Cypress College Saturday night on the second day of the Hilton Garden Inn Classic. All games at the PCC-hosted, season-opening tournament are played at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Rarely does one runner have as much impact as Tracee Van Der Wyk made for the Pasadena City College women's cross country team on Friday at the Southern California Championships. Van Der Wyk's All-Region sixth place finish catapulted the Lancers to reach their first team appearance at the CCCAA state meet in eight years.

Reed is looking to do the same this season for the University of Utah.
