The Office of Academic Support reports to the Vice President for Instruction and is responsible for the college’s Distance Education; Study Abroad; Off-campus High School Bridge; Teaching and Learning Center (TLC); and the Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) study and life-skills lab.
The TLC and MESA have several public and private grants in support of basic skills instruction and under-represented student populations. The TLC is heavily engaged in faculty development as well as research and design activities that innovate, incubate, and integrate successful outcomes into the college’s student and learning services.
The Academic Support office is also responsible for the college’s Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) review, implementation, and documentation process; the College Catalog; and supports a number of interdisciplinary paired and block programs, including the Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) and Scholars programs. The office also facilitates the college’s Student Learning Outcomes and Assessment Resource Center (SLOARC).
